About Me
I'm a freelance gardening writer, editor and hands-on horticulturist. I write about anything and everything to do with gardens, but my special interests are ornamental plants, easy and practical gardening techniques, family gardening, gardening for nature, garden decor and crafts. I currently spend most of my working week coordinating editorial content for the RHS members' magazine The Garden, but I am also available for freelance commissions.
My Background
With a previous career in news journalism, PR and communications I moved into professional gardening in 2010, training at Bodnant Garden in North Wales and completing RHS and City & Guilds qualifications in horticulture. I also worked as a self employed gardener and designer before joining the editorial team at Bauer Media. I was staff writer for Garden News, Britain's best selling weekly gardening magazine, and wrote for Garden Answers and Landscape before being appointed Gardening Editor for Modern Gardens. I worked at Bauer for five years before going freelance in 2018.
